I'm sure there alot of Tolkien fans here. For those of you who do not know, the movie will be opening on:

19 Dec 2001.

Trailers for the movie are available online. So far, it looks like it's going to be the best movie of the year hands down. It will blow away the lame cartoon version movie of years past. Have you guys seen the trailer yet? Post your thoughts and opinions about the movie in this thread.

I've seen the trailers and can't wait till December 19! Its going to be the best movie of the year I'm thinking ;)

I just hope that they don't leave too much stuff out just because they think it will make the movie better, or change the story to make it have more action or something, also, I think that they should have chosen someone else to play the hobbits, they just don't look like I pictured them in my mind.

I've seen the trailers, and I cannot WAIT to see the movie! the war scenes look amazingly cool...I'm eagerly awaiting this film, let me tell you.

Lord of the Rings will no doubt fill that painfully empty hole in the genre that was left by the utterly vile, worthless tripe that was "Dungeons and Dragons."

It will hit the Dutch cinema's around that date too wich i think is strange since we usually are months behind on the U.S.

Actually, I'm not sure I'm gonna see it...
I'm asking myself...is it worth to ruin all your own personal images of the characters?
I mean, I KNOW what Gandalf (for exanple) look like...I've seen him in my head..do I really wanna ruin that, and have a picture someone else forced on me instead?

I'm not sure what to do though, what do you guys think?
