I have accepted the quest to return the ring artifact to the temple, my journal says to contact Travin in the slums after dark, but I can't seem to find him. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, also, would is this Magehold quest that I've heard about, do you have to be a mage as a main character? Thanks. Jason the Red

Don't remember where Travin is (probably on the roof of the Copper Coronet), but you do have to be a mage to get the Stronghold.

Travin is on the north side of the map, where the arch east of the Sphere is.

as Xacharia says you'll find travin on the north portion of the slums map. near the north wall of the copper coronet complex and east of the planar sphere.. just south of the arch-gate sort of thing.
you'll find him there only at night. besides.. though i think upto 6 am (at least) is considered night in the game.. you might not find him very early in the morning. i couldnt see him at around 5 am for instance and had to wait around until the next night.
