Just had a quick happy "happy halloween" story to share:

Arrived yesterday afternoon back to Moscow from New York and was simply exhausted...the trans-atlantic flight had been full of drunken passengers
who wandered up and down the aisles (including two who engaged in pushing
each other and head-butting), the crew refused to dim the lights even though it was a red-eye, and the video screens didn't work, so no movies.

My g/f's son asked me if I would help him carve his first jack-o-lantern. This was the first year his school was having a halloween party. Needless to say, I couldn't refuse, and we actually turned out a pretty good one (though the Russian pumpkins certainly are small compared to the ones back home).

Just got a call that his jack-o-lantern won a prize for the best carved pumpkin.

The prize (a candied apple) certainly brought back many good memories of sticky fingers and faces.

Happy Halloween everybody!
