Well Yahoo is pretty big and good, though sometimes they have some serious problems and you can´t access your mails in days..

Another idea is to go to a site where you can get a mailaccount with pop3. There are some sites that offers that for free.

more and more news mailing groups do not recommend for you to use hotmail account because of the vastness of the emails coming in.
heck I got booted out for using hotmail account at this one groups.yahoo.com

I use either Yahoo.com (5.0) OR netscape.com (5.0)
