Just, today was the first time I've gone to the "Who's Online" area and I showed up as a 'guest'. Why am I a 'guest'? Is it an 'amount of time registered' thing? Only after ...days or some such?

Everyone is a guest until they post or edit their profile or such.

Every time you connect to the internet and open your browser you are reset to a guest. This explains why at any given time you see about half of the browsers are guests (most likely they are board members who haven't posted yet).

If you don't want to be a guest, go in and edit your profile, but change nothing. This will set the log-in information and people will see you.

It took me a few tries to figure it out too.

BTW, unless Ziroc has changed things, don't leave the Who's on line window open while browsing in another window. It used to be set (and may still be set) so that it refreshes automatically. When refreshes it makes a demand on the server. If everyone left that window open all of the time, things would move pretty slow around here.
