Got tired of Jaheira's remarks early on and dropped her for Viconia for my male character.

Now I'm in Spellhold running through the trials. Will I be penalized for dallying with someone other than Jaheria whom I left outside the Harper's Place in the Docks?

Also, I keep waiting for someone to change 'Edwina' back but at this stage I'm dispairing. BTW - I think it's a shame he doesn't put any moves on my character - that would be hysterical, or for Minsc to chase after him.

Actually yes you have gotten yourself in a bit of trouble by dumping Jaheira. Now the Harpers will capture you, dress you up in a pink tootoo and throw you to a gang of drunken sailors in the Dock District at midnight.

yep, you are pretty screwed. they won't dress you up in a tootoo, but they will backstab the hell out of you until you die. There is no escape...

You miss some sidequests is all I believe but it won't stop you completing the game. Jaheiras romance is the longest in the game but Terminsel (Elminster) will reward you with 100,000XP if you complete the romance and quests associated with her. She has some damn fine spells and is a pretty good NPC all in all. You can only dump her once I believe, if you pick her back up and then dump her.....she leaves forever.

And be prepared to meet Gunk, Zek, Fop and Dilapopialmash, Jaheira's 4 REALLY REALLY strong yet unmentioned brothers down a dark alley.

Yep :( And you must visit a special priest once a week, or you will suffer a -10 dex-penatly for the damaged inflicted in your ass :(

Pity they don't dress Edwina, Anomin or Minsc in a pink too-too.

You don't have to romance Jaheira, but what exactly did you not like about her?

PS: I always ask, I'm always interested in seeing why a person doesn't like a particular character, or more to the point, why they wouldn't want to romance a certain character

Why I dislike Jaheira:

I had her in my party in BG 1 and her dialog with Khalid was pretty darn sarcastic.

In BG 2 I had a party with her, Aerie and Viconia. She still struck me as pretty darn B**chy with her remarks, especially to Aerie. I also didn't like her getting over Khalid so quickly.

Aerie I didn't keep cause I got tired of her constant harping on her wings. Nalia - because of her "for the poor spiel". The one I liked most is Viconia - some of her remarks, especially the cutting ones, are really funny!

Still wish my guy would try to put the make on Edwina. THAT would be some dialog!
