More on that what shoud we do to the country harboring them. I mean from what it sounds like Afganistan is giving safe haven to Mr. Binladin (sp). But see we can't just bomb all Afganistan because of the all the innocent people that really can't do anything.

So i guess i am asking "What should be the U.S. course of action?"

I said this in another thread, but I think they will probably handle it like they did Iraq. Tactical strikes at military targets. I doubt the public and the world would tolerate intentional targeting of civillian targets.

But unlike in Iraq, we will gaurentee either the capture or death of the leader (bin Laden in this case).

If it were up to me (and it is not http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif) I would capture bin Laden alive, bring him to the US and drop him in Manhatten on a street corner! Make it well publicized when he will be dropped off and where, and see how long he lasts http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

I am not for inhumane treatment usually, but when a single man (if in fact it is bin Laden) is responsible for that much death and destruction, he deserves to be dealt with in the most inhumane matter possible!

I wonder if all the people opposed to the death penalty might be reconsidering their positions about right now.

hmm, i WAS going to post my own grueling, cruel torture involving thousands of tiny white-hot barbs, but Moridins is a bit more ironic to me. the only problem is getting to the bastard that did it!

It's simple. Once the Planet is hurt, it gathers Spirit Energy to heal the injury. The amount of energy gathered depends on the size of the injury...What would happen if there was an injury that threatened the very life of the Planet? Think how much energy would be gathered! Ha, ha, ha. And at the center of that injury, wil be me. All that boundless energy will be mine. By merging with the energy of the Planet, I will be come a new life form, a new existence. Melding with the Planet, I will cease to exist as I am now. Only to be reborn as a 'God' to rule over every living soul.

I'm with you, Moridin, only with one slight modification....make it know, but don't let anyone use guns, knives or weapons like that....let them tear him apart SLOWLY.

I asked my professor about this and she was like "Well... i want the terrorist to be caught alive and have his say in COURT"
In my head I was like WTF is wrong with u, court. screw court just torture him and then kill him.

That's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

My view would be

1. Identify the perp.
2. Find the perp. (This very difficult.)
3. Put him up in front of a court, like they're doing with Milosovic.
4. If found guilty, there are a number of options.

I can understand that many will find this completely unacceptable. But we HAVE to have some kind of legislative way of dealing with terrorists, human rights abusers, dictators and so on. We've made a start with Milosovic et al. For a start, the evidence has to be clearly seen by all, that the person or persons identified as the perpetrator is in fact the perpetrator. This is IMPORTANT!

If you are just going to kill everyone who the government identifies as being guilty of the crime of murder, be it mass murder, serial killing or the murder of an individual, WITHOUT trial and off the cuff, then we might as well forget that concept called civilisation right now. Proof has to be public!

Look people, if it's revenge you want - to be honest, (assuming bin Laden is the guilty party) the worst thing you can do to a man like that, who is used to absolute command, who never sleeps in the same place running two nights in a row, who is used to everyone adoring him, admiring him and hanging on his every word, is to put him in jail for the rest of his life. In fact, I would say the death penalty might seem rather tame compared to that, if you'll excuse my saying so.

Not sure about the torturing thing. So you want to adopt Saddam's methods, and the methods of others like him. No, please not! Let us not act like them! Then we become what we most hate, and all distinctions are lost. From there, it's downhill all the way, it seems to me.
