what are some good ideas to run a "bible study group" ?
anyone give some good suggestions? anyone experienced? thx! |
The following are absolutely crucial to make it go and I speak from a lot of experience:
1. You MUST meet once a week. It does NOT work every other week. Trust me on this. 2. It is better, much better, to meet in the same home for at least 6 months in a row. It does not work going to a different home every week or every two weeks. Continuity is the key. 3. The host home should not be the home of your group leader. 4. Small group dynamics break down after the membership reaches beyond 12 in attendance. Keep the number somewhere between 7 and 12 to maximize the dynamics. 5. NO KIDS IN THE HOUSE! I'm serious. This should be made a steadfast rule. Parents should be responsible for finding a sitter. NO EXCEPTIONS. 6. Start on time and end on time. This is a must. If they want to fellowship afterwards then by all means, but set guidelines as to when you will start and when you will end. 7. Study something that grabs your attention. Why make it boring??? 8. Your teacher should have a degree of maturity. 9. Have fun! |
O my, thank you SOOOO much. your experiences sound valuebale indeed, and we will definately think on it, thanks once more, Albromor

250, have you made a life change? I only ask because a while back (couple months?) you and I had a few negative words with each other. You may not remember because we resolved the issue very positively. I don't even remember what it was about!! Anyway, if this is a change for the better, congrats! If you've always been this way, then it must have been my fault for aggravating you (whatever our difference was). If this is the case, I'm sorry. I really mean that. Well, good luck!! http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

and if my life had a change, yes, but it is in quite a different way from what you might expect http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif anyway, good to see you |
Albormor has some good suggestions and guidelines, I would add to pray for wisdom and a discerning heart for the word of God.
