Indulge me in a bit of nostalgia; what was the first computer game (of any genre) you remember playing? and on what type of computer?

My first was on the Amiga (i doubt if anyone has ever heard of the thing, let alone bought one http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif) called "Bubble Bobble". It was pure simpliticy, shoot bubbles at the "baddies", which were no more than a random heap of coloured pixels in those days. It never failed because it hung, or because i had insufficent memory or a graphics card that wasnt powerful enough....it brings tears to my eye to think of it http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...les/crying.gif

Yeah, I know Bubble Bobble. My sister and I would team up on it and dual through the whole game. It was wonderful to beat it! (The first game I ever won.)
My very first game that I remember playing was Cubert on Atari at my babysitter's house.

Your signature gif is TOO big, the maximum size is 200x175 pixels ! Check Ziroc´s thread about signatures.

Also it can make the page look wider in low resolutions (like the one im using, 800x600) thus making the thread hard to read, so please change it soon !!

THANKS

The first game I ever played was the one and only Sonic the hedgehog. Then came Altered beast and then pac-man. Those were the days.

The first game I played was "Super Dungeon" on the original Apple. (not even an Apple II, then) Your avatar was a single low-res block, about 1/4th inch on a side, which you manuevered through a maze made of other low-res blocks. The exciting part was that there were a total of six different colors available, which greatly enhanced the eye-popping graphics. It actually had a character creation system with different races, classes, and abilities. Of course, no matter what you picked you still looked like a small maroon square...
I think that was right around late 1980 or early '81...
