Today i received a file named

MyPortrait (2)(1)(1)(1)(1).exe

or something like that. it was 11 kb
when i clicked on it, it automatically started sending the same file to all the people on my contact list that were online, and it screwed my computer (dunno if this is the virus effect, but i´d say it was).

So be careful and dont accept anything even if you know the person, coz its sent automatically..

thanks

Hopefully you won't have to reformat, but if your like me it's old hat.
.
To anyone recieveing the warning about the SULFNBK.EXE
It is a hoax e-mail. The file SULFNBK.EXE is a legit Microsoft file for long file name recovery. I have friends at work who actually deleted that file.
Never delete anything until you have checked it out for sure at the Major AntiVirus sites.
.
Hope things are ok on your end Ertai

It seems that it hasnt done any permanent damage to my machine, but the scare and the fear while rebooting my machine was enough for me http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif.

And now that we´re talking about virus, do not open any email about "Snow white and the seven dwarfs" or something similar. Its a semi-old virus, but ive received it again 5-6 times the last days, so be careful, and delete it without opening the attachments.

<font color="cyan">I got that My Potrait Virus.

If you press Ctrl+Alt+Del, you should notice that it is running on your computer.

If you try and delete it,it will not work.

I dont know the effects, but this is how to delete it.

Press Ctrl+Alt+Del, and close My Potrait. Then delete the file. This will erase the file from your hard drive.

But it will bring up one error msg everytime you reboot. It is worth it,as I heard the virus only activates once it has been on your pc for 128hours(4days).

Probably the best thing is to have the virus scanner do your mail as it downloads. Adds a little time and sometimes it may booger the download but you don't get any known virus'. That is if you keep the updates...er...up to date.
I have never heard of the My Potrait Virus Lavindathar. But thanks for the heads up.
