He goes down ok; but his buddy (the only one with a name, the others are just shadow thiefs) wipes out my two tanks and an earth elemental with one shot each! I equiped with poison imunity necklace, thinking it was poison, went down with one shot again. I also don't think it was poison because of the earth elemental. It wasn't a back attack because he killed all three of us in one round. You don't get a chance to read the diologue window either. I mean I'm not worried, I'll summon a bunch of low level monsters to keep him occupied while I find the combination that works. I'm just baffled at what exactly he's doing to kill three people with one shot each. My beserker has -9 ac and 148 hp, cavalier -9 ac 121 hp and about two and a half million each xp and 7th level earth elemental. Help me out and let me know how you fared. Thanks.

The programmers didnt enclude any script-lines saying that that guy that kills you in one round is suddenly beatable after spellhold.

He has the killsword equipped .. .though it doesnt show in the dialogue-venster, it does:
+1000 fire
+1000 cold
+1000 poison
+1000 undefinded dammage
-20 or something AC
+20 ot someting THAC0

You get 9 attacks per round and the range of the weapon is similar to a bow .....
He is completely immuned to any magic such as imprisonment and desintegrate ...
And if you do manage to kill him ( not sure thta's even possible, i think i read somewhere his minimum Hp is 1 ) he'll start spawning indefinetly.

Thank you VERY much for that info'. Tough break. At least it makes me feel better knowing it's impossible. Now I don't have to keep slaming my head into that wall anymore. Now I'll go find another wall.

the programmers put that in for a very valid reason. if, for some reason, you were to attack renal and/or Aran linvail during chp. 3 after you had agreed to work with him, you would be stuck. you couldn't work for Bodhi because the time for that had passed, and the Shadow Thieves being hostile to you wouldn't help you get to Spellhold in the slightest. You could always download the baldurdash patch to stop him from continually spawning and ctrl-y him, if it's that important to you. (or you could work for Bodhi next time around) :rolleyes:
