am on the quest for the two halfs of the rift devicehave first part from temple went to the lair of the sightless one for the other got it killed everything got treasure and amulet from sightless but can't get out! one way leads to the ghoul town(erradicated hehe!)and the passage i came through is blocked by bodies the other way leads to the upper reaches a sewer but secret door is warded.I can't get out of the sightless lair.Help!!

<font color=lightgreen>When you go down to goul town, go right across the bridges, past the doors to the end of the path. Go into a new area from there, and your in the beholder lair. You should see a pool in the center of your screen- look in it... it has some good items in it.
There are 3 more of these pools in the room. two will come up inevitably. Look in all of them. in the center of the room, you will need to fight some blind priests -summons are handy in this fight. Once youve beat them, go to the north East... you will find another pool, Guarded by a Gorth and a Beholder. Kill them, and in this pool should be the rift device. When you pick it up, it will automatically slot into the bit you already have. Go back out of the pool area, and you will have to fight the unseeing eye. I would recomend you use the rift device (which you should have put in your quick item slot), but other people will recomend fighting him... if you dont use the rift device, you could use it on the Shade Lich in that big coffin... anyway, once you have killed the unseeing eye (the Rift Device takes it down to about 5 HP), go back to the area where you fought the blind priests. Go south from here, and you need to fight about 2 beholders and 6 Gorths. This was, for me, a hard fight... but if you have the shield of Balduron, it may be useful. Anyway, to the bottom of your screen, you will notice two ways to go. Take the right one, and you get to another pool... this one guarded by a single Beholder. Couldnt be too hard could it ?? After all, you have beaten no less then 4 beholders and 8 Gorths in your time here... whats a single weak beholder to you ??
Once you get whats in that pool, you have 2 options- get oudda here,or another fight (more items) and then get the hell oudda here. For the second option, go north. Eventually you come to another pool, Guarded by both a Beholder and a Gorth (i think). Kill them, get the items. To get the hell oudda here, you go to where you fought the beholders and gorths, and go down and to the left. Once you get to the bottom wall, go right. You will come to a way out... go up these stairs, to a secret door you probably noticed earlier. It will now be unlocked.
You now have 3 options, 1) Return the rift device to the avatar at the temple at wherever.
2) Fight the lich.
3) Commit suicide.

for 1)Go back down to the temple, and you will get a cut scene. Quest completed.
for 2) Just go up and open the coffin. a lich pops out... Daystar is helpful here [img]tongue.gif[/img] , one you beat it, choose either option 1) or 3).

for 3) Go back out of the old tunnels, and go up to the temple district. Congradulations, you are now dead. :D :D </font>
