At what point should I dual class my kensai? I had read somewhere that the level should not be to high so that because while dual classing, the original ability cannot be used. Also once you have reached a certain level both classes will again be useable. Do you start gaining points on both classes or do you improve only on the 2nd class.

ive never dualed my own character, but as far as i know, when u dual class a person, they lose their current skills until the class they switched to surpasses their original, then thy can use both...correct me if im wrong guys

You regain the abilities of your former class when your new one surpasses it. If you dual your Kensai to a Wizard at Lvl 9 (one of the two "optimal" switches), you will lose all kensai ability until your second class reaches level 10.
That said, the longer you wait to dual class, the longer you wait to regain your abilities. |
You only improve in the 2nd class after you dual, so make sure you are high enough in kensai before you dual.
That said, you should be either 9, 12, or 16 before you dual. At each of those levels, you get more kensai abilities, which you will stop gaining after you dual. Personally, I'm playing a solo game, and I dualled my kensai to mage at level 12. Now, I'm level 12/26, and almost at the ToB exp cap. Haven't even finished SoA yet, so as you can imagine, this char is extremely powerful! Once you dual, you will have to get to one level further in the 2nd class than the orig class level to re-activate the abilities of the 1st class. So, in my case, I had to wait until my mage level reached 13 before I got my kensai skills back. Luck to ya! |
