So Edwin has the higher INT, but you can always raise Nalia's up with potions of genius in order to write all the spells into her book. Nalia can use bows if need be. Nalia is better looking IMHO. Naturally, you'll want to have both in your group at some point to get their respective quests, but my question is, assuming you have thief abilities covered by someone else, which would you take and groom for the long haul as your mage and why?

Edwin gets +2 spells per level more than Nalia, hes much funnier, interacts way more with the other charecters and all round is just the guy you want.

I've never played Edwin, but if you have a mostly good party there could be problems (one of my favorite spells is Holy Smite...which unfortunately will toast all the evil characters in your own party as well. I also tended to keep a rather heroic reputation as well, so I kept my party good or neutral) And Edwin is apparently incompatible with Valygar, Keldorn, and Minsc, so if you want any of them in your party, you're probably better off with Nalia.

Uh, one's a caster, the other a healer. Whichever one meets your parties specific needs.

I think he's only incompatable with Minsc, its viconia that fights with Keldorn. Anyway when Edwin mocks the other charecters its a lot of fun so I wouldnt worry about it much, lots of good fighters but Edwin is the best mage in the game.

nalia is an annoying idiot as well.

Go wit Nalia shes a thief/mage and Edwina is just a mage

Edwin gets 2 more spells every level than her, as in when she has one level nine, he will have 3.

nalia's thief skills are net to useless as well, the only thiefs worth a damn are that gnome Jan and Yoshimo.

i totally agree. you could use nalia to get the 10k for her house then dump her, then go get edwin.
Evil characters are always the funny ones

Hmmm, not sure what I'll do. My character is a swashbuckler at 10 dualed to mage (currently 13), so I'm just looking for some extra spell slinging. I have to say the extra spells a conjurer gets over a mage may push me in Edwin's direction. Truth be told though, I've been rotating characters in my party more frequently than I change my underwear.
