My party is helping the Shadow Thieves as part of Yoshimo's quest. We've infiltrated the rival guild and gained Mae'var's trust. Now I'm suppossed to get some incriminating documents.

I believe that Edwin has a key that unlocks a dresser that contains the incriminating documents.

I had a dialog with Edwin and he offered to help betray Mae'var. (Apparently, I should have taken this hint.) I declined his offer, and started fighting him. Just when I was about to finish Edwin off, he vanished.

Can I find Edwin or the key somewhere else? Or, am I just a victim of my own bad decisions?

I don't think that you have to kill Edwin. If you don't kill him, he gives you the key. And by the way...who would want to kill the best mage in the game.

Well, Edqin usualy hangs around the copper coronet after you finish mae-var, but i suspect in this case hes gone completly. The game will still be completable I think, just help mae'var betray renal bloodscalp (or whoever the other shadowthief leader is).

If you wanna cheat use the CLUAConsole to generate item code: MISC4W, to get Edwins Documents, or code: EDWINKEY to get the key to the strongbox.
