I've been thinking of trying out this classic RPG for a while now and I finally got a copy. So, to anyone who knows Deus Ex, are there any mods that are must-haves? Unofficial patches (I'll naturally patch it up with the official one)? Graphic revamps? Weapon rebalancing?

I don't know of any, and I wouldn't recommend bothering with them anyway. The game is fine as it is, there are a few skills that are useless, but it would take a revamp of the entire game in a new engine and with new levels to cure that.

(See: Swimming and whichever one it is that lets you use hazmat-suits/armor for longer, heavy weapons is almost not the most useful skill in the game.)

Yeah, I recently went back and finished that game again too and it's still as great as ever

Never needed any mods or patches ;)

There's a zillion mods out there. And the patch. I recommend taking the patch, it will remove some bugs with current-tech graphics cards.
Hop on over to PlanetDeusEx and give it a whirl. Mods like Hotel Carone are AWESOME!

I would play the core game before trying any mods. The official patch is recommended.

Thanks guys. I'll try a vanilla run without mods and only the official patch for now.
