Picked it up yesterday... 'twas only $15, and included the original three BT games. I never finished BT2, so... :D

In any case, it's been fun so far. Here's my pro and con list:

Pro: humor between bard and narrator
Con: Everyone's got a Scottish accent
Pro: ambiance and graphics
Con: Long time switching between maps
Pro: automatic conversion of treasure to gold
Con: automatic upgrade to "better" weapon
Pro: that friendly little dog, who apparently can't be killed
Con: Overhead third-person view... I like looking far away
Pro: Indestructible swords
Con: Choppy sound (after a bit of game play)

Overall, it kept me up later last night than I really wanted :D

Anyone else played it?

I have been wondering about this game for some time, but have not bought it because of an overall dissapointment in recent games. How would you rate it all together? Is is pretty good or mediocre?

Anyway, thanks for the reivew!

I'm interested in this game... I'd like to know if it's worth buying... :D

Depends on the price. At full price it's a definite nono, at 10 or 15€ in the bargainbins, i guess it's worth the money.

I was also frustrated by the long loading times between maps, even for small one room maps it takes ages. But it can be damn funny at times :D

I do like the dialogue... though it's a bit adult at times. I don't like the overhead view... I spent a large part of last night shooting things I could see with my bow, and eventually seeing them die.

I do like the bard's magic... the crone who automatically heals you is rather nice :D

Gotta take a break for a few days, though... travel time

It's the kind of game that you would rent over a weekend, play through, and never go back to. I like the humour and the Scottish accent (thank god for subtitles), but combat is simple, the perspective awkward, and the game extremely linear. It's ok to play through once for the story and the jokes.

EDIT: If you enjoy that kind of jokes, that is. Exagerrated cynicism all the way:)
