It was crap the first time, now they want you to re-buy it for what was MISSING in the original?! I have lost all respect for D.W.
Instead of working on a v1.4 patch, they were working on another way to get your money for what should have been in the first place. WOW. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on ME. I mean, its a total joke to me. Maybe this version is the Beta (the original was an Alpha). I just don't get it... When something is shite, and SLAMMED in the gaming world as "The worst, unfinished CRPG ever" you USUALLY cut your losses and run, not make a collectors ed. geeez AND BTW, Read the official announcement on the Dreamcatcher forums!! http://www.dreamcatchergames.com/for...&page=1&pp=10\ ------------------------------------------------------------ Toronto, Canada – December 13, 2005 - DreamCatcher Games today announced that they will release a Collector’s Edition of their best-selling RPG game, Dungeon Lords on January 27, 2006. 1. What happened to D.W.?
2. Is he suicidal? |
Err, what I think will logically happen is that the V1.4 update will be made available to those who have already bought the game.
By the cRPG gods, I hope I'm right and not just wishful thinking. Still, it seems incredibly unprofessional to not release the game in its entirety in a fully updated and functional form in the first place. To be quite honest, I'm glad I never purchased it, despite my curiousity and somewhat repressed yearning for it. ;) |
Yeh, D.W. Bradley has shamed his good name I fear. For good. Time to retire man.. Wizardry series and Wizards and Warriors were awesome, but, time to retire.

The contents of the 1.4 patch. It may or may not be 140MB, but it is big... here's the detail of what's in it:

So... they didn't really fix much, other than taking away beneficial bugs. Still... downloading it anyway. Perhaps I'll get to it... |
Cities are still barren.. no furniture in buildings... ;)
|
Hmmm... guess I won't accelerate my game-playing to get to it...
|
The could have at least added in some new spells. After my Warlock cast Fire Nova for the thousanth time or so it got pretty old.
Maybe they can begin work on a platinum edition that adds weapons, spells and people to the world!! |
*sigh* all right, I know I'm going to get laughed at for this, but I've heard enough of this "OMG they are releasing the EXACT SAME GAME AAAHHHHHH!!!" hysteria going around.....good lord!
I agree what everyone says the game was unfinished....HOWEVER I looked at gamebanshee, and heres something interesting...http://www.gamebanshee.com/news/stat...lpKJzimVSO.php They say that this edition is the complete version.....I know, laugh....but I doubt D.W. would be doing this purely for profit. I'm sorry but I am SICK AND TIRED of all this outrage. Yes it was unprofessional to release the game in the state it was in, and it was a VERY stupid move....but can we PLEASE calm down for a few seconds? I'm going to get the Collectors Edition (yes you heard me, I will NOT change my mind) and judge for myself. Thank you for taking the time to read this, sorry if I came off childish....but I am more upset at the customers that keep saying that dreamcatcher are a bunch of scammers and acting like 2 year olds (no it wasn't directed at anyone in this forum)! As soon as I get the CE version, I'll let you if it deserves another chance. (p.s. I'm doing this so I can help people make informed decisions, I'm not doing this to prove I'm better than people.)
