What kind of other hobbies relating fantasy have you guys?
for example how many of you has read any salvatoresī books?
I myself have read all books that are translated into finnish. About 10 drizzt related books. And I do larp. I went to my first game last summer. When I watch american tv-series, everyone who plays AD&D or other Rolegames is a geek. Do you really think like that? Here in finland Live Action Role Playing is very popular. You cannot even get to every game, because there is so much participants.

Ps. Sorry if there is some bad english, English isnīt my motherīs language

Warhammer. It has goblins and orcs and wood elves and high elves and humans and lizard men etc. It is based on AD&D but it has its own rules. Very fun. You paint your guys and glue them together. I am the Wood Elves, my dad is the High Elves and my bro is the Human Army of Brettonia. Totally based on LOTR! I love it as you would know if you looked at my sig...

I'm a computer geek I guess, but I don't much look like the ones on tv. More like an office worker (of course, the fact that I work in an office *COULD* have something to do with that )

I recently read the three Drizzt novels pertaining his birth , childhood, and escape to the surface where he becomes a ranger and is accepted by Ten Towns and some dwarves in that area (wow, I just summed up a thousand pages of story in 24 words ! You don't think I skipped very much of importance, do you ? )

I'm currently alternating between playing BG2 and ToB and trying to finish it and acend to godhood before Never winter nights comes out , and entertaining myself writing The Great Science Fiction Novel (still in the works, and has been for some time)

I've read a large proportion of the Forgotten Realms novels, I DM pen and paper Dungeons and Dragons. I even bought Pool of radiance I like Dungeons and Dragons so much. I also do a lot of wargaming. I play Warhammer and Warhammer 40k. I'm a member of two wargaming clubs, one of which I'm a commitee member of, and I'm running a warhammer tournament later this year. So yes I'm into lots of fantasy. Yes I'm definitely a role playing geek, and proud of it too.

I read a lot of fantasy books and play other fantasy games on my computer. I also do a lot of rolplaying, such as D&D. I the recent years I have also started with LAIV. That would be real-life roleplaying, where you basically, dress up and live your role either as an elf, dwarf or what your heart would desire. Sometime ago a tolkien laiv was set up, where they play one of those huge battles ( can`t remember which) I would have died to be there!

Ok, About Pen and Paper roleplaying games:

I Dugeon Mastered for:

D&D in general as well as the following world:
Planescape
Dark Sun
Forgotten Realm
Dragonlance before and after the SAGA rules system.
I first started DMing with the 1st version of Basic D&D, and moved all the way up to 1st, 2nd, and third editions rules.

I also Dungeon Mastered For:
Shadowrun
Vampire: The Masquerade
Werewolf: The Apocalypse
Star Wars before and after the d20 system.

I recently bought the Core rulebook for the Wheel of Time roleplaying game but have not tried it yet.

For video games in generals:

I played and Completed every RPG ever released In America for the Nintendo and The Super Nintendo except the Dragon Warrior series. On the genesis I played completed the Shining Forces and Phantasy Stars Games. I completed every Playstation PRG ever released at my video club/store except the one in the last 8 months or so. I have played lot of Computer Roleplaying Games, and own a few of them, but it is hard to know how many got released.

About Novels:

I own every Forgotten Realms novels and also a few Dragonlance, Vampire and Shadowrun novels. These novels are good, but they are nothing compared to some other series I own.

If you could only ever read 3 series in your life, then I would STRONGLY recommend those 3:

A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin
The Axis and the Wayfarer: Redemption trilogy by Sara Douglass
Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan

I am spending my free Time working on the Fantasy Novel I am writing.

Am I a geek? Yes, and proud of it.

Edit: I forgot to say I used to play The Magic: The gathering Card game and the Star Wars one too.
