Simple question, is it good or bad to have high speed factors?
And why is it good/bad?
Thank you for your time

Hi monkeyman and congrats on the brainstrain ;)

Neway a high Number is better because u move faster... In other words u can run away faster or get to a certain place in the area faster... thats about all it does... it doesnt add ne attacks or nethin though it is very useful.. especially for mages who get caught up in combat and want 2 do a runner :D

actually the lower the number the faster you attack, hence Belm the scimitar of speed with a speed factor of 0, when determining when you attack (first time in a round for fighter types with multiple attacks) a 10sided die is "rolled" and the number one one to ten is when you go, the weapon's speed factor, or spell's casting time, is then added to this number. and that is when you go, I believe multiple dice are rolled for each attack for charcters with multiple attacks... but i'd have to look up the rules in the book...

Speed factor relates to weapons, movement factor relates to character movement. movement is better with a high number, and has not effect on fatigue.

Speed factor, as far as I can tell, says when in the round you make you attack. As long as the target stays alive it makes little practical difference, since BG dosent simulate disrupting of physical attacks, but the real advantage comes with one-shot kills - if you can kill the target before he gets a hit in, you will never take damage. Lower numbers are better.

High numbers tend to go with high-damage weapons. Except for katans, which have the best of both worlds. And the more exotic magic weapons, anything can happen with them.
