My current party consist of the PC (ranged fighter), Lothar (tank), Taar (nature mage) and until recently Deru (ranged w/ some nature mage). I swapped Deru for a dire wolf.
Any comments on the party? Any weaknesses or potential problems? I'm about 2/3 of the way thru' Act I (at chapter 6, completed all primary quests up to chapter 5 and almost all secondary quests received thus far).

you should be just fine with that group. the important thing is to play a group that you like, the way you like.

i don't have any mages, except the little bit of healing that deru provides and haven't had any problems, so anything is possible.

however, if you plan on playing on the higher levels of the game, i'd recommend not doing many of the side quests, as you'd want them later, to keep the game feeling new.

hmm .. thats a good tip vesselle.. cause i always complete all quests before i move on.. damn... but do you know if there is something different about the quests at the higher levels... ??

I'm a bit concerned that I do not have the slot for a combat mage. Thus far my party has two melee fighters (Lothar & Fifi, my dire wolf), an archer (on hindsight I should not have made this my main character) & a druid (or nature mag. I prefer the term "druid").
Almost at the end of Act I now, about to finish the penultimate chapter.
Will I feel the loss of a combat mage later? If I need to make room, whom should I dump? Fifi?

PS - the archer class seems so superfluous now. I'd prefer a tank as this deals tremendous damage if the right weapon can be found. Right now Lothar is wileding a Noble Hammer, does about 30 to 60 damage in the stats.
