The patch 1.2 is finally out woots I have been waiting for ages. I was going to uninstall the game to get rid off the Total Realism that my dad downloaded. I uninstalled it and started the reinstallation. When I put in the third disc I left to play San Andreas. Apparently mad dad came home. I went back to check my installation and my dad was on the computer chair and aborted it. He said "It looked like it was frozen..." And I thought Bull^##$$..... so now he just left and I was going to start the entire reinstallation process again and during the Install Shield I get this error: 1607 unable to install Install Shield Scripting Runtime.
I exploded. And now I am so damned tempted to cancel my dad's 250 megabyte download. Anybody knows how to resolve this problem? (Ziroc: Don't put that in the header next time please) [ 02-06-2005, 05:33 AM: Message edited by: Ziroc ] |
Take some prozac. Seriously. Don't get so upset about a video game .oh wait, this is Rome? Then by all means go berserk, I would have gotten the axe.

There's probably some files left in your register that have to be deleted manually. Every trace of a previous install must be deleted, otherwise there might be conflicts, as you've already found out by now. I'm not saying this is the solution per se, but it's quite possible it is.

restart your computer? some programs need some restart to remove some temp memory.. good luck mate. hate it when that happens

All I needed to do was just to restart it. And it was five minutes after I started this topic. And I didn't reply because I was too busy playing Rome:Total War. Patch is awesome though. I will post my comments on another thread.
Thanks for the help anyway guys. |
