Which is the better sword for a thief, The equiliser or celestial fury? My thief is proficient in katanas, long swords and single weapon fighting style so proficiancy isn't a problem. I also have both swords so dont go on about how difficult it is to get the equiliser hilt from the mindflyer dungeon!

From these two I would go for the celestial fury.IMHO however the weapon for a backstabbing thief is Blackrazor!

Well i would also have to go with the celestial fury it seems to have the better combat ablities. I never used it my self but seems like a good weapon.

It have GREAT combat abilities, gives you a better thac0, does much damage, is fast, and easy to wield.
A very strong weapon, imho, better the the Equalizer.</font>

Celestial fury and the equaliser are incredible weapons, but if you play as a thief probably the best option is blackrazor!

Go Celestial Fury [img]graemlins/biglaugh.gif[/img] though equalizer can be VERY good on occasions [img]smile.gif[/img] Personally Blackrazor is good but not the BEST for backstabbing... the Staff of Magi with a Theif/Mage is by far the ULTIMATE weapon for backstabbing...

I thought you couldn't backstab with big swords?
I.E long swords, scimitars, katanas.
I keep getting a wee message that says 'not suitable for backstab'

you can backstab with any weapon a thief can use, it´s not necessarily dependent on the weapon type. for example, valygar can´t backstab with his own katana and you can´t backstab with a staff of power because they´re ´valygar only´ and ´mage only´ - although thieves can normally use katanas and staves.
i believe there are some fixes at least for the corthala family blade around though.

Yeh u must get a fix for that in the patches cause Ive never had that problem b4..... Neway you can backstab with the staff of power if you are a theif/mage.... that is probably 1 of the most useful weapons 4 backstabbing in the game... cause once uve backstabbed go invisible run off.... Stealthy up again and then backstab... reapeat at will :biglaugh:

my warrior/mage/thief cant backstab with all weapons...i tried to backstab with the mace of disruption and i got the "unsuitable for backstab" message to
