The game in question is Enclave. I had no problems with it until yesterday, when it would crash halfway through a particular level. I tried uninstalling the game, but came up with this:

Quote:

An installation support file could not be installed.

Catastrophic failure

Now, when I try to run the game, it will only let me install. But when I try to install it, I get that same message. Does anyone know what might have provoked this catastrophic failure?

Pobably means that the CD is unreadable or the software is having a hard time extracting the file(s) from the CD.

If possible, copy the whole content of the CD and install from there. Otherwise you need to try it on a different CD ROM drive. If both of the cases came up with "critical failure", most likely your CD has been cratched or damaged.

It must have been something internal, er software-wise, because the disc looks fine. No scratches or anything.
