It has been quite some time (years in fact) since I played Fallout 2, but I got the itch and borrowed the game from my friend again. First outing was an abject failure and utter nightmare as I struggled to take a crash course in Fallout 2 gameplay after close to 2 years of not touching the game.
Lousy statistics selection, poor perk choices, biting more than I can chew, etc... ... Learning from my mistakes in the first session, I rallied around and started again. This time, it was a whole lot easier, more fun and smooth flowing. Still doubtful about my perks, but considering I got more cash and bullets than I can ever possibly use, I think I am doing fine. Just need to get more XP... level 21 now, but need more to get more perks. Boot's full of looted weapons to trade for ammunition and supplies in San Fran, while Buster is being constantly robbed blind in NCR. Man... if only they would allow me to steal from the main shop in San Fran. Not that it really matters anyway... Cassidy is the only one in the party that has a weapon that can use the Burst function. Soooo, that means ammo usage is pretty minimal. Rodin(Me): Sniper Rifle / H&K G11E Sulik: Super Sledge Hammer (words cannot describe how much this rocks) Vic: Sniper Rifle Cassidy: Pancor Jackhammer Lenny: .223 Pistol K-9: Teeth Considering that I constantly rob 400 rounds or more of .233 ammunition from Buster every week... lack of ammo is not going to happen. Have about 4000+ rounds in the boot, and counting. Shotgun Shells? Cassidy has about 2000+ in his inventory. My favourite encounter is the one where Hubologists fight the Press Gang. They beat the tar out of each other, I clean up the survivors and I get extreme loot. The H&K G11E(unloaded) alone sells for $8000! One can buy a lot of stuff in Fallout 2 with that kind of value. I bought Power Armours in San Fran using pistols as barter... ... The funny thing is... I haven't touch New Reno yet. It's the only town I haven't actively explored before reaching San Fran. It will be surreal I guess... for a party of 5 heavily armoured people and a robot dog to stomp around there. Maybe I should clean up the town. ;) Speaking of which. Besides the game patch, I installed an appearance mod, called the B-Team Mod. What it does is that when your NPCs wear armour, it will now actually reflect in the game world, which is pretty cool, because it's nice to see 5 Power Armoured(1 advanced) dudes walking together as a party. Now for my question. If I want Lenny to heal me using his Doctor or First Aid skill, how do I do it? Same goes for Vic and his repair skill. |
as i recall....
you try to do the action yourself, and if their skill is greater they do it for you; but its been a while since i played it as well |
Yeah, i agree with gabrielles. The only time i saw an npc use their abilities was when vic used the repair skill, which was when i tried to use mine.
|
They only use it when their skill is greater to yours as said. Otherwise they let you do it.
|
maybe i should get the mod as well.. looks pretty unrealistic for sulik wearing nothing but under his skin is power armor (literally!)
