I tried to play that in the internet cafe that I registered in.
Its music was very good...but the gameplay is what I didn't get the hang of. It seems that the opponents circle me, giving me a headache.

Anyone play/played this? Got any advice for me, plz? :embarrassed:
I personally want to go for the Wolf Clan, but are they hard to get started? Who is easy to get the hang of it? And what woudl be the building order for each clan?

P.S. I played tutorial 3-4 times already...

its a complicated game but personally its like starcraft wherein each clan has its own strenght and weakness also having a hero as well. i sugest you try the campaign to get a know how ;) . i dont play it personally but i do see people play it alot before.

Its really not that hard to get the hang of - if your having problems, I would suggest starting off with the Dragon or the Serpent Clan - those two are the most similar - once you've got the hang of them, it should be fairly easy to get the hang of the other two clans.

OR,

I would suggest playing a single player skirmish - and set one of the computer to "ally" status; make sure they're the wolf clan - and watch them. Just to see how they operate.

Building order really depends on your stratergy. I tend to go for town hall-dojo/well/keep - but then, I'm a dragon Clan player.

Finally, don't just build one type of unit; trust me, I've tried it. They always get floored totally. Samurai, Ronin, Werewolves and the Mages of the lotus clan - they'll always fall to a good variety of lesser units; make sure that you back up your elite units with others. For the wolf clan, I would suggest trying a force of packmasters, (along with wolves), their priestess's, and some werewolves. Then throw in some other units to support them. The wolf clan can be almost unbeatable if co-ordinated right - but then, having said that, so can all of the other clans. Oh yeah, and when you kill samurai - RUN. Keep your unit's away from them, unless of course you want them to be injured/killed by the dragon's energy the samurai release upon death. hehe. thats always fun to do to an enemy - especially when you charge them with the next wave. I'd also keep an eye out for watchtowers - they can be a real pain.

I'd also check some of the various websites for the strengths and weaknesses of various units. Another thing to point out - the more huts you have, the faster your population increases; but that slows your regeneration (health) for your units. You'll also get a slower rate of peasents as your force increases. Oh, and always attack. Seriously. Get as much Yin/Yang as possible, and grab heros. Lots of them. Have fun, and I hoped this helped, somewhat.

Thanks.

Now got it.
I played all the clans and can justifiably say I'm getting good with Dragon Clan. (Playing the campaign helped)

I like 4 samurai with Yang Points, 4 Dragon Warriors with Chi Shield, 4 Kabuki with flash and 4-8 archers backing up. Works wonders too. D:

It's a darn nice game that suffered from poor distribution... I ahve both, but IMO, and I still hold to it, an equally-skilled Lotus player will crush pretty much any other race if they get into mid/late game. I'm not joking. Issyl + Zymeth + whatever is hell on earth to beat. You'd need insane micro from Dragon to counter it. Trust me, I've tried. It just goes through your army like butter. My advice; as soon as you see Issyl doing his Haste, run the hell away from there. Give up space for time and hopefully do some flanking.

I won't go too much in-depth here, except to say that I'm a Dragon player, and it's a darn nice game. Too bad they shut down the forum for it, though.

I used to play the game... we thought it was a nice pastime to Warcraft III that time... LOL... it got overrun by Warcraft in my opinion...

it was a nice game... quite similar to well, warcraft... or starcraft for that matter... anyway, I am either lotus or dragon... I want serpent because of the cool looking ronins, but then a Samurai on a horse really looks great. :D Lotus... well.. they are overpowering... ;)

Zymeth and that thunderstorm... hehehehehe

The problem with it was the inverse of so many other games; it didn't have enough hype. Without hype, people don't buy the game. Without people buying the game, you don't have a forum. Without a forum, people are discouraged to convince more people to buy the game. And without more sales...

This game is hard. I am doing good in the campaign, but in the skirmish I get butchered before I can do anything.

I'm usually good at rts games, but in this game I keep getting overwhelmed by the computer.

Bahamut 10-27-2003 05:38 AM

With the PC vs. PC I only win when I am lotus... dang...

Assassin 10-27-2003 08:26 AM

Get troops real early with the computer. They like to rush. Don't slap down 6 peasants on rice and 2 on water to tech up like I did at first. You have to make your first building, keep on training from that one, and slowly make your way up. For example, make an Archery Range first. Keep on pumping Archers, and when you have enough resources, build a Dojo for Spearmen/Dragon Warriors. When you have enough resources, add in an Alchemy Hut. And keep on training.
