I've never heard of it, so I can't offer any thoughts. At least, not beyond this one: most posters in the IW forums are amazingly well-trained, and will respond to threads when they think they can add something to it. If they don't know, they tend to leave it alone.

The General Discussion forum is, BTW, exempt from this rule. It still happens there, but there's more free-wheeling activity going on.

So, the general rule: Ask. If no one responds, you win the "Going Nowhere" thread of the day award. I've had at least one or two of those winners on this board.
