anybody got any tips on killing the shade lich?

Only difficulty is that you have to kill another lich first just to get that Daystar, ironically enough. ;)

turn undead with your priests!
attack the altar first to prevent spawning of new creatures
Good weapons against undead are:
Daystar <font color="#44341D">- In a crypt behind hidden door (painting) in tavern in city gates district </font>
and
Mace of Disruption <font color="#44341D">- in pool of blood in Bodhi's lair north of the coffins</font>

No it isn't needed to kill that lich as well.
You can run with your thief pick the chest's lock and take daystar without fighting.You can even use the newfound sword to anhilate that lich as well.

so where do i get the daystar and this other sword to kill the lich?

If you Ctrl-A while looking at faceman's response you will see where they are or with your mouse highlight what he has written and you will see it.

Daystar isn't the only item that has Sunray: The Helm of Brilliance does it too, although you have to go through the Underdark and back before you can buy it.

Another excellent weapon is the Flame Tongue longsword--it's +4 against all undead. Find it <font color="#44341D">in the Druid Grove.</font> The Sword of Flame is NOT the same thing--The Sword of Flame just adds +1 fire damage, and I think it's a +1 weapon. The Flame Tongue, even through it's a flaming sword, does NOT add fire damage, and so will NOT kill trolls. (Grrrrr......)

thanks i used the sun sword or whatever and used its spell and it killed the shade lich instantly.
