After I killed yuan-ti mage I didn't grab the key and now I can't find it. Is there a good way to beat him and the trole. I always get confused and even when I use rigid thinking it doesn't block the spell.

The FIRST thing we need to know is WHICH yaun-ti mage and troll you're talking about. (I'm assumming it's the Slavers Ship, but we need to know for sure).

Next, we need to know what type of character you're playing and who you have allowed to join you.

Then, we should be able to suggest some "health preserving" alternative strategies.

if you mean De'Arnise Keep, the key should be in one of the cabinets in the same room.

The priest spell chaotic commands works well against confusion.

thanks I found it. I don't need to win that battle again.

I, too, think he means the De'Arnise Keep. That Yuan-Ti mage can be a real pain, if you're a low-level party.

My Hint: DON'T come down the stairway that's right beside the mage! You'll get murdered. Go around the second floor counter-clockwise, and try to get the trolls to attack you first, drawing them out of the Yuan-Ti's sight range. The Mage will be MUCH easier without his pals.
