Yeah, I know, just the mere mention of this game to many of you brings a series of emotions from wistful hope to grand disappointment to homicidal ideation. I heard that there was some serious problems with this game. I even heard it could (but not always) seriously mess up your operating system. So, what is the low down on this game and what about the new version 1.2? They now have this designation on the box. Thanks ahead of time.

I have not played the original POR2, but I've heard & read many bad things about it. First off there was this *HUGE* bug that would cripple your OS when you uninstalled the game.
Apart from this, there wasn't much in terms of role playing in the game. No thinking required, if you have the correct item in your inventory the game will automatically solve the puzzle/quest for you.
Almost all reviews I've read on POR2 were negative. CGW awarded it their "Coaster of the Year" award.
I'd avoid this like the plague, especially since there are many new quality RPGs out there, such as the recently released Neverwinter Nights, Dungeon Siege, Morrowind, Wizardry 8 and the when-is-it-finally-going-to-be-released Icewind Dale 2.
