Welcome to the IW FOrums, Vohnkar.
You didn't specify what games you already have played besides Morrowind, so this list may have some things you have already played. Here goes in no particular order: (1) Icewind Dale 1 with the Heart of Winter expansion and Trials of the Luremaster free download (2) Icewind Dale 2 (not yet released but it should be ANY day/week/month now) (3) Planescape Torment (outstanding game) (4) Baldur's Gate 1 plus Tales of the Sword Coast expansion (5) Baldur's Gate 2: Shadow's of Amn plus BG2:Throne of Bhaal expansion (6) Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 (not fantasy rpgs but very good) |
Welcome to the boards Vohnkar!
There are a few good ones I've found that would be worth it: -Baldur's Gate 1&2 and their expansions are very good. -Icewind Dale is good or so I've heard. I've never played it. -Wizardry 8 is great -Neverwinter Nights when it comes out will be very good I think. -Diablo and Diablo 2 are fun if you like the Hack n' Slash. Those are just a few that can keep you occupied for at least a few months. The BG games seem to have unlimited replayability(sp?) for many people. I've played at least part way through both 5 times or so. Wizardry 8 can get a little tedious at times but is great anyways. Hope this little list is helpful! -Jafin |
Morrowind is good as well. Although you'll need some high end specs to run it.

Torment is a great game, I'm playing it right now. if you like a solid, immersive RPG with hours of play its your best bet. this is assuming, of course, that you have played BGI & II and their respective expansions.

I had a wonderful time with Betrayal at Krondor. Good storyline. It does allow you to wander a bit far in Chapter 1; I messed up some later play.

This page has some demos for some rpgs if you would like to try before you buy.

Try Dungeon Siege, a 3d game like morrowind only for the pc and more of a above 3rd person view instead of morrowinds 1st person view, you start out as a farmer in the land of eb, when monsters called grugs, dumber than a smashed rock, decide to attack towns and farmers in groups(sounds odd huh) You are sent on a wish of a dieing friend to see a man in the next town. the story unfolds great as far as i can tell(i still havent got the full version in the mail yet)you pick up party members and all kinds of items and armor on your way to see the king(or so the story says)Try the demo version(only 10% of the map can be explored, to the first town and a little bit of the walk to the next)YOU CAN GET THE DEMO VERSION AT www.planetdungeonsiege.com
I liked it alot and i am getting the full version, but i would suggest a cable modem for multiplayer play(same as the normal game, only that party members that can join will be humans connected to a server, MULTIPLAYER CONNECTION SERVICE IN FULL VERSIN ONLY) |
My thoughts (I have all the games xcept IWD 2, any day now )
(1) Fun game, but low on RPing. If the storyline didn't pull you in in Morrowind, this one will leave you out in the cold (pun intended.) :D (3) Incredibly high on plot. Makes Lord of the Rings look like a Dick & Jane book (ok so I'm maybe exaggerating a little.) (4) One of the best balanced games between plot and action I've ever found, get it if you're going to get... (5) I LOVE THIS GAME. It is the only RPG that I have beaten more than once, save NWN and Morrowind. INCREDIBLE. (6) Sweet games also. There are some points where the game balance just isn't there though, and you have to wander looking for encounters. Still, you can get them both in a bundle for 20$ Can, soo. Also, I have NWN, and it's fun, but you NEED to play multiplayer, or else the hefty price tag ain't worth it. |
I would recommend the Fallout games. They sell both of them in a bundle pack, so you can get two very good rpg's for almost no money.
