Does anyone have the MTG game from Microprose (not the horrible Acclaim game)?
I do and I still sometimes play it, I heard they are releasing a new game that you play online and can buy online cards. I'm not very excited about it to be honest.

But the old game, I was wondering how many expansion packs there were released for it I had the Arabian one (can't remember the name) and Duels of the planewalkers. Anyone know if any more have been released?

No I think that's it.

I think the newest MTG game is a Rip-off! Paying for Virtual Cards + Paying for the Game ! It is just like a Diablo 2 game where the only way to aquire equipment is by bying it with real world $

I've got it, the duels of the planewalkers, and spells of the ancients (IIRC) are the only twwo expansions, I usually network it and play with my wife

I used to play that game. Those packs you are talking about are OLD. I havn't played in a while, but if I had to make an estimate, I would say they released around 20-30 more expension since them. They release a new one every few months.

i am an active player. they release about 4 new Sets a year + 1 main set.

I meant expansions for the computer game.
I knew they release new cards almost every day...

...Which is also the reason why I stopped with MTG alltogether more than 7 years ago. It got way too expensive with the large amount of new cards being released all the time. And of course WotC made the cards more powerful or introduced new rules with any new release, just to force you to keep up... Which I refused to do, obviously. ;)

well, not entirely to early cards are quiete powerful (timewalk and the liks). but you're right nowaday'S there are cards you simply wont believe like 6/6 creatures with B:regenerate and G:change color for 3BG...

It's not really that costly.I have been able to find x4 common and x4 uncommon sets of each expantion on ebay usally for $40 or less including shipping. That's a pretty good base for casual play.If you want to make a specific deck that requires rares, just buy what you need again ebay or other online stores will often charge 20% to 50% less than your local gameshop.I have played the online beta version and it's realy good. But I won't buy the full version untill I see some feedback as to the tourny side after it's been released in full for a while.Heck if you aren't worried about competive tourney play for your ranking online why not just download apprentice and play online over IRC.
