Which do you like best? Personally, I favour Heroes IV and Might&Magic VI.

World of Xeen(Might and Magic 4&5) is clearly the best M&M ever. :D

I also played #2 on Sega console and that was also cool! :D |
I don't think I'll be voting in this poll, because I only ever played part VII. I quite enjoyed it, despite some things that I didn't really like about it, like the tedious travelling-schedule that the coaches and boats use, the fact that you can raise your characters stats ad infinitum (as far as I've been able to determine) and having to return to towns because you need to train every time you go up in levels. Those things make no sense and take away from the gameplay a bit, but apart from that it gave me a pretty good time.

Although I have manage finish "Cloud of Xeen" and the subsequent series (Dark side of Xeen, I think) and also 90% of the current series (MM 9), I didn't actually like the game very much. The high cost for the training is one of the major drawback of the series.
Overall, M&M series are something good to spend your time if you have no better games to play with. |
Really loved Clouds and Darkside of Xeen. I especially love the journey through the volcanic caves to the hidden city of Shangri-la , as well as the goodies found in and above the Dragon Tower. Unfortunately these two games are very fussy about your sound card and memory settings, making it very difficult to re-install them whenever you've got a new system. :(

M&M 6/7/8 are readily avalable here in Australia, as is
9. Yes, I've read all about that one. The Good & Bad. I have just picked up a three pack with 6/7/8 on it and they are available in single as well. Have started MM7, my first journey into the M&M world, and I think its just a fantastic game, loving it. I have not seen any of the earlier versions around though. What were the graphics like in these earlier ones?. What year did the previous versions come out?. Are they DOS games?. |
M&M 4&5 were DOS games, yes, but I bought a collector's pack not long ago containing M&M 4, 5, 6, 7 and a special game called Swords of Xeen. The M&M 4&5 in that pack can be run in Windows without altering anything, the graphics are QUITE good in my opinion, for a game of that age at least.
