I'm not sure if this topic has been talked about a lot or not, but I haven't found the answers to my questions as of late, so I guess I'll post them here. If they belong somewhere else then I'm sorry, and I'll try to rectify the matter quickly.
Anyway, down to the questions at hand. Can someone detail out for me what it takes to make weapons? Also, I'd like to know how to make shopkeepers if anyone knows. I'm also having trouble creating characters for the game, because my version of TeamBG's CreatureMaker isn't working. Just so everyone knows, I have the creature maker, I downloaded the java runtime module thing, I have the VB6 files (so everything will run), I have the infinity explorer, I have Near Infinity, I have the Infinity Talker, the infinity dialog utility, shadowkeeper, and I have the infinity scripting editor (So I figure I'm set). Anyway, when I go into the Creature Maker, and I go to turn my .chr files into .cre files, nothing happens or opens or anything. If I hit extract it gets a runtime error and dies, and if I hit New, it simply freezes. I have 384 MB of RAM so nothing should freeze. Anyway, any ideas? Everything is installed that I listed. Also, one more thing, how would I put the cre files into a area file? I've created this cool band of baddies to make my party meet, which later (when I find out how) I plan on giving my people a quest with them... where they give the quest, I go find something, and I come back yadayadayada... I won't reveal my idea, but I think if Iget everything done I'll offer it to everyone. |
Try going in the configuration of Creature maker, look if the program is looking in the good directory for your BG2 folder.
As for adding creature in your Maps, Just download the Infinity Tileset Area Editor from TeamBg, then when it is open on a map (that you have exported with Near infinity) select Add Actor. [ 03-03-2002: Message edited by: Luvian ]</p> |
Well, I just got it to work one time... but it won't work anymore. I got it to work by installing it again and doing what it said about setting the root folders as soon as it started... it worked once... and once only. I think if I try and get it to work again the same way, by installing it again, it will work.. but that is such a pain in the arse... if anyone can think of a better way, please feel free...
