I'm going to get famous for my consistant whine-topics but what the hell.

So, what was the most UNFAIR/ANNOYING/MADNESS-BUILDING thing that ever happened to you in SoA. I'm talking about Beholders shooting DeathRays through closed doors at invisible NPCs hidden two rooms away or just a horde of kobolds taking out your lvl 20 mage because their hold person spell succeeded. Or getting hunted by cowleds for the special abilities of Keldorns Hallowed Redeemer, attacked by Elves at the Underdark exit in course of Jaheira's Harper quest.
Tell me your pain...and let me feed on it!

Faceman. Good post. No, your not whiney. We need topics of all types to keep this forum interesting. I think everybody's topic is legit AND sometimes darn funny.

Well, I think that its unfair when: I'm playing as a Ranger, I choose to go do that de'Arnise quest thinking I'll get that Keep as my stronghold. After killing the last trolls and going outside, Nalia starts the dialog and ends the dialog without asking me if I wanted the Keep. DOH! So, I reloaded 2 more times thinking I must have said something wrong. Then I suspected my Ranger class. I bring up the Shadowkeeper to change my class to F/M/T, went back into the game, and lo & behold the Keep was finally mine. Darn! I want to play as a Ranger.

I wonder what would happen if I change my class back to Ranger? Does anyone know. I'm already deep into the game as a F/M/T.

You only need to be a certain class at the time of the dialogue to obtain a stronghold. Also some characters check if you already have a stronghold (if you are multi or dual-class). Some, like Nalia or Lavok, don't, thus giving you the possibility to obtain multiple strongholds (As a F/M/M you could go for the thieves guild - Renal checks for you active strongholds IIRC - and then obtain the keep and the Planar sphere).
I'm not quite sure if you can get the Ranger stronghold if you switch back to Ranger now, as you already posess the keep.

why would you care ?

The ranger stronghold is the cabin in the Umar Hills. Everyone has a strong hold, D'Arnise Keep is the one for general purpose fighters.

Paladins have a different one (Windspear hills winds up giving you one somewhere...)

Barbarians also get the keep, altho it would make more sense for them to use the Umar cabin

well this does not happen very often but sometimes when you are killed the enemy has all your inventory

so when i had to face the vampires in firaags dungeon mazzy was killed i did not mind that because i could revive her but because when you kill a vampire they turn to them clouds i could not loot its corpse

heh, looks like somebody changed the topic

Here's a question I have. When you eliminate the Maevar Guild (if you choose to do that), why can't you get access to all the goodies the guy at the front desk was selling?

Hey, I just cleaned the place out and wiped out an entire guild....I believe I'm entitled to rummage through their "inventory" and take what I damn well please.

Just a thought...I would REALLY like a chance to eliminate the everybody in the Adventurer's Mart (especially that smart-@$$ guard) and set myself up as the new "proprietor".

Ah well, I suppose there's a little thing like "game-balance" to keep in mind......BAH, I killed them, I DESERVE their STUFF!!!

One thing that kinda irks me is how you lose your special abilities after gaining the 'Slayer' ability. I know the Slayer kicks ass, but I never like to use it, seems too easy and I don't like the rep hit. I'd much rather keep Draw Upon Holy Might.....
