err this is kinda embarrassing to ask but whats the benefit of choosing a specialty mage class (like the illusionist,necromancer etc)...i always choose the pure mage kit or the necromancer (for the name)but i would really like to know the difference between them (except for the fact that you lose spells on choosing a specialty and that cant be the only thing) so please, someone, write an answer and preferably some feedback about the new sig (-;

You get one extra spell per level. Thats it I think, theyre may be some save against spells from your school but I forget.

With specialtys (like Necromacy) it deals mostly with death so you have to have 1 or more of that kind of spell per level.
Hope this helps ya! |

Put Simply:
Advantage: You get 1 extra spell slot to memorize in for each spell level. Disadvantage: You cannot scribe spells from the opposite school of you speciality (e.g. if your a conjurer you cant scribe divination scrolls like identify) |
to make it clearer,
you CAN cast spells of opposite school, you simply cant scribe them in your spell book |
ok...thanks guys...
