I've lost Shadowmere somewhere - I dismounted somewhere and now I can't remember where I left him. Normally if you enter a city you get a message "your horse has been left at the stables" or something like that, even if you leave him outside a cave or something, but for some reason he didn't "fast travel" with me. Anyone know if there's a way to find him, other than going to every single place I've visited? That's going to take a loooonnng time.

Do you make game saves as your playing? If so you can go back a few saves and look around if you find him check the spot on the map then close that save and reopen the main game and return to where you last saw him.
This is my first offical Post Hope it helps you!

My personal experience with Shadowmere is that when you don't know where he is, he'll be where you first found him.

Welcome aboard mate. I did try that and I know I lost him after I closed the Bruma gate, but between that and my next save (when he was "gone") I'd done heaps of things in between. I usually just quicksave so it all gets overwritten.

Johnny, I'll try that and let you guys know if I find the stupid thing (I don't even like horses anyway!).

Thanks for that, Johnny - I finally found the stupid thing, right where you said it would be.

I know, i had to travel the same road. At first i thought the horse would be right outside the city i was doing my thing in, but no such luck. That's why i eventually stabled Shadowmere, and never went back to pick it up. First of all, you can't do battle while horsebackriding, second...for some reason your foes always focus on your horse first, and third...companions...and that goes for horses too, are only a burden, if you're not careful, you'll kill your own horse, or companion. I've spent 30 days in prison because i accidentally killed a guard at Kvatch.

Yes, well basically Shadowmere (and all horses) are a useless waste of space.

You'll get a message saying "Shadowmere has returned to Fort Whatever". Even if you don't, he will respawn there every time you visit it.

Yeah, he can't die for real, making him the most usefull horse.

Of course he still has too little durability, which is why I moded the horses to make them better.

my horse is retarded. one time while adventuring, i found him hiding in a bush. !!!!! wtf is going on! howd he get there? it was the middle of nowhere! and lastly, what was he doing in a bush ? for his stupidity, i decided to kill him. i normally would never kill my horse on purpose, but this was a special occasion. i was doing him a favor by killing him. any ideas anyone to why he was out there?
