why on earth did they make khalid a fighter??!?

my case...

his stats are rather mediocre for a fighter and you can't pick him up before he's wasted a slot on axe instead of getting a third in long sword.

he's so cowardly i don't think he'd EVER have fought anything if jaheira hadn't been yelling at him constantly.

just an oddity that came to mind. personally i think he would've made a fine level 10 Toady with proficiencies in BrownNosing and Boots of Licking.

You'll get no arguments from me on that one! Some people have said they were able to make him into a pretty good fighter using certain items, but I found his personality so annoying I'd always kill him off ASAP. Bravest thing he ever did was going into battle alone against several ogres with no armour and no weapon...

Monty and Xzar were cooler, so was Xan, Tiax however, was THE coolest NPC in bg1.

Actually even with all the annoying features Khalid is my 3rd fighter (behind TraderVix and Minsc) Yes he whines and wet's himself when there is combat but I've gotten through alot of tough fights with him.

TraderVix, is that name after Vic from Fallout 2?

Khalid is a watse of time. Personally, I got fed up with his whining so I took all his gear of him and fed him to an Ankheg. "mmmm..Crunchy, but satisfying"
