Well, I just created a "Necromancer" character, and am having a blast with him. I like having countless people getting their countless skulls bashed in by countless waves of undead. I've joined Telvanni, and the Mage's guild, and am hoping to become a vampire soon enough.

Well, I came across an interesting thing, (That everyone here has also seen [img]tongue.gif[/img] )The orc Alchemist in the Balmora Mage's Guild. The one that Caius sends you to. I asked her about Necromancy, and if she was one, and she replied with a very sparratic answer. From that answer, I know it's painfully obvious that she is one.

So I come to my question. Is there any way to pry her knowledge from her? Or to have her open up? Or something?! Or is this just a dead end, and I'm on a wild goose chase (of my own design) ?

Necromancy is illegal according to imperial law. Since Morrowind is conquered by the imperials I won't be suprise if she remains tight lipped on the matter ( though I myself didn't pursue too much about the matter with her ). Throughout the game there'll be quests for you to kill people who got indulged with necromancy. So that's shows how illegal the thing is.

However, interesting to note that necromancy 'isn't so' illegal according to the dunmers. There's some books inside the game that describe how some families raise dead to safeguard their family tomb.

To get Sharn Gra-Muzob to teach you a necromantic spell (summon Ancestral Ghost or Summon Skeletal Minion, if I'm remembering correctly), you have to confront her with her necromancy. Without too much spoiling, look close at "things" that belong to her, and when you find something that says "Necromancy" to you, show it to her...

This requires decent levels of theiving skills...

I may also be wrong, so quicksave :D
