I know that some of you want a cloth Map!
For those of you that have good color
Ink-Jet printers & a Scanner you can make
your own high quality cloth Maps using an
Iron-On transfer Kit.
Go to the following site to buy the kits
or check with your better stationary stores
or goggle "Iron-On transfer paper" and there
are alot of different manufacturers of the paper.

http://www.proworldinc.com

I realize this is not something alot of you
would even consider doing and believe the
cloth map should come with the game. Bethesda
has said that the cloth map is not even being
considered. They have high quality paper maps
included with the game as well as a book and
a coin in the Collectors edition & that's it.

"WARNING"
Don't use iron-on transfer paper for inkjet
printers in your laser printer. The heat can
cause the paper to melt all over the inside
of your printer, possibly resulting in hefty
repair bills or destroying your printer all
together.

There is no such thing as "high quality paper". You fold it a comple of times and it start ripping off.

It's also cumbersome. You can't leave a huge paper sheet laying around, but you can a piece of cloth. I still have an ultima cloth map on my desktop and I haven't played the game in ages.

Oh well... I heard this game will use Starforce and I won't buy it if it does, but otherwise I guess regular edition will have to do.

Starforce is that bad huh?

I may have to cancel my preorder then.

</font>[/QUOTE]You've been waiting for Oblivion for ages, I wouldn't cancel your preorder if I was you. Sometimes you have to take the bad with the good if you really want something.

But me personally my dislike of Starforce is greater than my desire to play this game...

Don't worry, a crack/hack no cd will be out on the net by release day.. (No CDs are patches are ok to talk about) because copy protection has become a fng JOKE..

Yeah, I'll probably wait for a crack before buying the game. It's sad that we have to rely on hackers to play our legit games now...

Indeed, indeed...and I've never experienced the joys of a cloth map, but I really have never used physical maps for games, either. To me, it's not really necessary. I'm pretty sure I'm just going to get the regular edition of Oblivion when it comes out.

From what I have been told no-CD patches for starforce games are an absolute pain to use. Things like disconnecting CD drives, or running three or four different programs before starting the game seem to be common.

At some point individual games get hacked and the starforce get removed from the main executable, but it take time.

Luvian, that makes a lot of sense. I was thinking specifically of zero-day no-cd patches, you are probably right that good no-cd patches show up eventually.
