I haven't yet used a Cleric/Ranger, and I'm wondering what sort of Druid spells do they get?
Can you access higher level druid spells? Or do you only get the same ones that a Ranger would get? |
Hmm, AFAIK, Druid spells = Cleric spells.
There are no such thing as Druid spells, only cleric and mage. And the spells the druid learn, is some cleric spells. Maybe special cleric spells, but it's still the same. So yes, you will eventually get more spells in the higher levels with a cleric/ranger. see ya! |
I beleive that once you get access to spells past level three they are stictly Cleric spells... though you have the Druid spells of levels 1, 2 & 3

But clerics cannot learn the highlevel spells out of the plant, animal and weather sphere, so this are a kind of druid spell. But then, the druid is only some kind of cleric, anyway... |
A Ranger/Cleric will get ALL Druid spells, of all levels, including (yum, yum) Ironskins and Insect Plague.
This class combo is amazingly powerful. Enjoy it! -- Nifft |

And with your cleric-ability to learn "cleric"-spells of levels 4 and higher you then just memorize the "druid"-spells, which you can access by beeing a ranger? |

Scribed spells appear on the screen you get to by pressing 'w'. Granted spells appear on the screen you get by pressing 'p'. You could call them 'wizard' and 'priest' spells, but those terms are misleading. Bards scribe spells and are not wizards, for example. The real difference between scribed and granted spells is how you get them. Grantes spells just appear when you're high enough level to cast them. Scribed spells appear only after your character has successfully scribed the spell from a scroll. There are only one kind of scribed spell. There are two kinds of granted spell, though, with several more minor subdivisions. The two big divisions of granted spells are commonly called "cleric-spells" and "druid-spells". These two sets overlap heavily. Both sets have Cure Light Wounds, for example. However, only cleric-spells set has Free Action and Call Upon Holy Might. Similarly, only the set of druid-spells contains Call Lightning and Nature's Beauty. So it could be better said that a ranger/cleric is able to cast all druid-spells AND all cleric-spells. All from the same screen (the granted spell screen, the 'p' screen), no division between which spell is a Ranger spell and which spell is a Cleric spell. Anyway, for a better understanding, just play one! :D They are fun. -- Nifft |
Ranger/clerics are superb. unlike a lot of dual/multi classes which are just impressive stats (you really don't need a kensai/mage THAT much), ranger/clerics are genuinely very, very useful. excellent for healing and much more interesting than the regular cleric, plus they summon animals and stuff (good cannon fodder).
definetly one of my favourite classes actually, yet i keep forgetting to make one again! [ 03-01-2002: Message edited by: arbitanx ]
|
