The fighter guild mission in Balmora which asks you to retrieve 200 gold from the woman in the hose of earthly deliights is causing me trouble. I asked her about the money but she mentions Orvas Dren's thugs. So I set off to find these guys who I tracked down to the plantation Orvas Dren owns in the Ascadian Isles. I found two shifty characters killed them thinking they'll be the thugs but the woman will not give me the money. I can't steal it as she always notices so I just killed her. I have a save before that so was that the right thing to do? Thanks.

Bribe, bribe, bribe... Save the game and try to bribe. If you fail then reload, otherwise save again and continue. This way, you cannot fail :D even with very low speechcraft.

Once you get about 70 with the woman, try speaking the money again.

Does it matter that she is dead?

Clear out the plantation, there's really nice armor to be found, hehe,

well, go back to the quest giver, and report. if it lets you complete the quest, then it doesnt really matter if shes dead or not does it?
