Or rather, crime where I don't become the victim of the guards when it's reported ;) . I'm trying to kill a woman who has a certain artifact that I need. She won't talk to me so I can't taunt her into attacking me. Now, she's in a room in an inn by herself, so I shut the door. I then attacked her, but my crime was reported. I reloaded and tried casting silence on her so she couldn't speak (so I assumed), which was successful in that she didn't resist the spell, but not successful in that my crime was still reported. How can I kill her without having my crime reported? (It's not that I can't pay the bounty, just having to drop all my stuff on the off chance it's stolen is so tedious ;) )
Also, how is the crime being reported when we're in a closed room by ourselves on the second floor of an inn with no one else even on that floor? Thanks |
You have to backstab her and kill her in one blow.

i know what you mean. i cast invisibility on myself to prevent being seen when i nabbed some alchemy formulas, and my crime was reported anyway!

thats because invisibility (holy crap thats alot of i's in one word) goes away the second you try to act out anything such as stealing or attacking.
you'd be better to use chameleon (which doesnt go away on actions) spells/potions/items to make yourself 100% chameleon, then sneak up to her and hit her with your biggest enchanted weapon to do critical damage and kill her without being seen. |
Okay, I'll try that. Another related question, I've recently received a number of quests from various guilds asking me to kill members of different guilds I belong to. Obviously I can't just kill them or I'd be in trouble with the guild. But if I taunt them and they attack me, is that okay? I've done that with a Telvanni guy but they don't care if you kill other members, the Imperial Legion and Thieves Guild and so on tend to ;)

okay, well, if youre talking about spoilers here goes:
. . . . . . . . . . . . . .if youve been asked to kill the leaders of the house telvanni, then youve talked to the mages guild arch magister. what you need to do is complete all the balmora, wolverine hall, and ald ruhn mages guild quests, and make sure to become a "WIZARD" in the process. once you have done this, simply challenge the leader of the mages guild in vivec to a dual and kill him. you become arch magister, and you dont need to kill the telvanni's. if you refer to the fighters guild quest to kill off the theives guild, you should complete all the fighters guild quests in balmora, wolverine hall, vivec and ald ruhn, stopping at the point in vivec where you are asked to kill the leaders of the theives guild. by going AFTER getting that quest and completing all the fighters guild quests in ald ruhn, you can gain support from some, and kill others to become the guild master of the fighters guild without having to kill off (and therefore quit) the theives guild. |
Um no, that's nothing like what I was talking about at all. The fighter's guild questgiver in Vivec asked me to kill an imperial legion member in Ebonheart, and the Imperial Legion questgiver in Ebonheart asked me to kill a member of the temple in Vivec. I want to know if I can taunt them into attacking me with no adverse affects in their respective guilds, which I am also a member of.

probably not. but if it doesnt work, you can always get as high as possible, then kill them; you might be able to get out of it through rank and defence
