So I managed to trap some monsters in soul gems... now I have run out of gems.
I hear the Star of Azura is re-usable? Is that just able to flush souls out or actually use it in enchanting and then use it again?

Also Why can't I get constant effect on my items? Are the souls too small in my gems?

I have a magika value of 120 in my biggest soul...

The only way to get constant effect is to have a grand soul gem with either a golden saint or an ascended sleeper in it. Anything else is too weak.

hope you didnt use any grand sould gems, because you wasted em if you did. use your current soul gems to make some decent weapons which cast on strike, only golden saints and ascended sleepers will make constant effect items.

as to azura's star, it is completely reusable, whether recharging items or enchanting them, making it (arguably) the best artifact in the game. if i remember correctly, heading directly east from molag mar (or was it maar gan?? whichever one is east of vivec) will take you to the shrine of azura, which is located in a shrine on the very eastern coast of the mainland under a statue of a woman on top of the cliffs.

i hope someone will correct me on the city to head east from, i can never remember the name...

I can't seem to kill Golden Saints... and they can't kill me..

I am level 18 now and with an armour rating of 142. We just bash each other for 2HP damage allllll day...and with quite a few HP, I need something to kill these babies.

get a good dwarven claymore and enchant it with soultrap for 7 seconds in 5 feet, and fire damage for as much as it can hold. use an ogrim soul for this (and go to an enchanter, don't try to enchant it yourself). those little soul trap glass daggers you find are useless, that claymore is good for starters in soul trapping... later when you have a daedric staff you can make a better soul trapping weapon.

What about the Soul Drinker?

Soul Drinker is okay, as long as you have a sufficient skill in Short Blades. Nothing wrong with it.

never heard of it... or dont remember it. i make all my own weapons, they're much better than anything you'll find in the game.

Personally, love soul drinker: it has good charge, the trap lasts quite a while, and id does nice damage to boot.
