I heard that Rotheran has the greatest treasure and is the hardest place around... before I go and get slaughtered and waste a day, can anyone tell me what the place is full of?

I am now level 17 mage/fighter/thief.
Have: Umbra, Half Ebony/glass armour...

The toughest battles a part from Umbra was at Ald Sotha when facing Storm Elementals... very scary!

What will I face at Rotheran???

I hear of everyone attacking me and some guy in a shiny robe I should kill to get some amazing weapon?

As far as I know, I've never been.
From what I gather at UESP (*hint* *hint*), you have to go there for an Imperial Cult quest. It's also one of those Propylon chambers, so there may be some resistance.

eh, granted that there are literally HUNDREDS of ruins in the game, i dont remember this one. if it is a propylion chamber, it may be tough, but not too bad. just watch out for ascended sleepers (fat guys in robes that look like they have tenticles). they arent very fast, but they have LOTS of magicka.

if youre splitting up your armor, are you well trained in both heavy and light armor? because whatever your skill is higher in, you should stick with that kind of armor instead of mixing and matching.

1. I haven't found anything extraordinary in Rotheran. No great treasures.
2. Yes, one of the quests of Imperial Cult will send you there.
3. Rotheran is the dwarven fortress south of Dagon Fel.

There's a moderately good claymore in there, but nothing that's worth a special trip if you're not doing the Imperial Cult quests. And it's a Dunmer Stronghold BTW, not a Dwemer Ruin.

If you want a good claymore, get Chrysamere. It's somewhere on Daagon Fel in the hands of some mage lady. It's way better than Umbra.

eh, i've always thought the weapons that are self enchanted are much better than even chysamere, which i got by accident and wasnt even impressed enough to carry it beyond until i could sell it.
