Recently, somebody's decided my secondary character (alander, because she's female) was worth assassinating...
Normally, I wouldn't fancy that kind of attention, but...well, they attacked me when I rested in the Balmora Fighter's Guild. Unfortunately for them, they got tangled up in the bunk beds, and I stabbed them to death, and sold most oftheir gear to the Creeper for about 3200 septims.... Why do I love assassins? This happened like five times, and financed seven level-ups! Deride me if you will. |
Maybe we both need counseling, but I enjoy that sort of thing, too...
Reminds me of dear ol' Daggerfall. I became a werewolf in that game, then cured myself, but the werewolf hunters kept coming. I once emerged from a dungeon only to find dozens of bounty hunters wandering the area outside, incompetents all, but VERY well equipped. Ended up with more than enough cash to buy a rather nice house... Oru |
This is because you got Tribunal installed as well.

no, no-- it was in Daggerfall, a prior game set in the same world. You could buy a ship, too, but it wasn't of much use, just a place to store stuff...

I must add a note about that ship Do you know, that:
- You can rest safely on your ship as well? - The ship is always behind your a$$, no matter where you are. Change travel mode to "ship" and you will be teleported to your ship in no time. The way back is equally fast: change travel mode to "walk" and you are backin no time. In the other words, the ship is your walking adventurer's base. You can store items there (except arrows), you can rest there, you can find a safe place there, no matter where you are in the wilderness. But it is not all: you can reset shops by means of the ship because the ship is always not only in "another town" but even in another province. Compare with the house. The house is completely useless in Daggerfall. The ship is invaluable :D |
The ship was very useless in Daggerfall. The worst part was, if you slept outside on the deck, you could be attacked by Atronachs, a real pisser.
The houses were very nice, but I could never find the perfect one. And did any of you had the problem of forgetting which bank you stored you're gold in, I know I did. |
Why did you sleep on the deck? Was there any reason for it, especially, after making experience that sleeping on the deck is unsafe? And what are the less bad parts? I have rested inside the ship for thousands of nights and the only attack I have experieced there was the vampire attack after your trying to betray the vampires while being a vampire - but this attack comes in houses, too (patch to version 2.13).
Well, you could fall into void if you enter certain parts of the lesser ship - but again: was there any reason for not knowing about the holes and avoiding them? Therefore, my first steps after leaving Privateer's Hold: Gothway Gardeh, loan 50000 gold, Tula, loan 50000 gold, ship... |
