So what type of creatures would people like to create? This creation stuff is cool.

Well, I havent figured out stats and stuff, but I'm thinking of making a foe called Uruk-hai.

Perhaps I´m a little block - headed but what´s this monster creation stuff about ???

mangy_dog 02-28-2002 04:02 PM

Urukhai would be cool. From Lord of the Rings, right? Monster creation is just coming up with monsters that you think would be fun to see in the game. Stretch your imagination and have fun!

I'd like to see more template-monsters, particularly dragonkin and demonspawn. Maybe some red draconic ogres outside of Firkraag's lair (look like redish ogres, but have a firebreath attack like a magma memphit and resist fire 100%).

Draconic goblins would be funny... and maybe even dangerous.

A zoo of half-fiend beasts could be interesting.

Driders would be quite a project

I have been thinking of making Drizzts Panther Guenhwyvar and creating an figurine item to summon it. Seeing as you cannot get it in the game.

years ago i created a monster called a miled.it was used to punish players who were getting out of hand.the miled looks like a human female of about 80 years.the are fast, strong, and have a high dexterity.but their strength is used to latch onto a victim not to hurt it.it charms its victim when it successfully attaches to it.the it sexually molests it.this in turn causes the victims charisma to drop to its lowest score possible.except for elves.theirs will drop to 1.and anyone this unfortunate individual meets will want to kill it,including other party members.the curse will wear off in 48 hours.and remove curse does not work against it.

Cool, I had this in mind too. If ya wanna take a peak into my lil Blink Dog, it's on the creating weapons thread. I too am fond of the pets ya can get or create. Dun have a clue tho as to how it can be done. Hehe, I opened up the creature editor and went to file/open and right then had an error msg - YAY!

What are driders? Are they the half human half spider things? If so, those would be cool. Those are like um, drachnids in Eq right?
If not, do explain since the name sounds nifty.

I wouldn't mind seeing displacer beasts in the game. The only bad thing about this however is that it's tougher to do. We don't have enough 2d/3d models to change to make authentic D&D monsters. For the beasts we could use the pumas and cats.

If I could, I'd make a lair of different elves. Undead elves seem to float my boat. Not drow nor the treetop kind. Higher magical resistance and Perma True Sight. Speed would be high and if there was good AI; they would nail you down with poisoned tipped arrows.
If anyone knows of Hugh the Hand and his voyage to the elves (forgot their names and history) then they are the ones I'd like to introduce into the BGII storyline.

Dark green in color with random blurs. Running up to them to melee them leaves you in their dust. They are very sociable and KNOW what's going on in the whole area. If you fight 1 or 5, expect the whole fortress of them to warp in to fight your party. They would act as vampires do. You don't really kill them for good. There are different levels of elves too. All serve as one unit, but that doesn't always mean they do so willingly.

They have poison tipped arrows, poisoned daggers, and the ability to regen at 2 hp per round. Their daggers in melee can succumb a whole party. The daggers are poisonous and can induce sleep. You won't be able to use their weapons except for the arrows if you manage to kill their shell.

The Queen: She holds the treasure you can keep though beating her is like trying to go up against 3 dragons at once( with smart AI )

She has a knockback spell with a 25% chance to cause you to sleep for two rounds. 100 % MR. Hostile since she doesn't welcome outsiders. There is a wardstone however. A "Glades" elf made an amulet for his human lover. This would get you in under the falsehood of being one of their kin.

The Queen can Petrify, Dimension Door, cast death spells, and has VERY good saves and resist to slashing, piercing(somewwhat), and bludgeoning weapons. She also has an innate ability to regen at the rate of a troll. She's like a lvl 25 mage in SOA. She however doesn't use imprison spells because it's an insult to her to do so.
Basically a beefed up regenning super necromancer is what you will be lookin at. +5 or better weapons are needed. Innate immunity to non magical weapons.

She has about 175 hitpoints and once you kill her shell, she will return to her place of rest for 2 hours. Her place of rest is hidden DEEP within her fortress. She is one of the Keepers of Lore/History. Of course she's able to get bested, but I wouldn't try it without being full aware that once in her fortress, there is no way out except thru her demise OR.....

(this can go on for days)
