Why has my X (the location I casted Mark) turned black? I go and retrieve an artifact in an ash vampire lair then decide to explore Red Mountain a little and then try to recall and zippo, zitch, nothing! I go back to where the X-mark is and it's black.
I'm assuming that something(creature or item) has blocked my use of recall but no effect is listed in my effects bar and I never received any message. Please someone tell me it's not a bug!
I found another post by Gabrielles blades which basically said it returned after a week game-time.
Has this happened to anyone else?

must be a bug, I haven't encountered such problems in my games.

It's really annoying! I tried to see if it would come back if I rested for a couple of weeks like it did for Gabrielles blades but it didn't.
I think it must be a bug. I had saved and then decided since I was so close and all the I'd go explore Dagoth Ur (he did invite me after all). Anyway I get to the part where...

he says why have you come unprepared and I say what the heck I have it saved. I kill the "fake" Dagoth Ur and go through the door that opens up and he says you can't use divine intervention or anything to get out of here. I try to kill him and of course he heals everything before I can even hit him again. Anyway I figure I'm not going to continue with this and load up the old save game. I think that the game didn't erase the no recall out thing when it loaded the save game.
Another option is I encountered an ascended sleeper that actually talked to me and it did this. I prefer option 1 myself since I don't think the game makers would do this on purpose.
Any way I saved over the latest save game and am stuck with it unless I go back further (only 5 game days) which is annoying but not as annoying as having no recall ability so...

Never happened to me either. Have you tried to cast mark on another spot and see if you can recall to it.

Probably a bug. One of the most glitchiest thing in the game is the map IMO. Don't be too concerned. Just play through it the best you can and save save save.
