Is there any way that you can switch houses? It's my first time playing and I'm attached to this character, not to mention I don't want to throw away all the time I've spent. Anyway I joined house Hlaalu and would much rather be in house Telvanni. I've tried being expelled and trying to join Telvanni but it doesn't work. Is there a console command or mod I can use?

Once you join a house, you can't go back i'm afraid. There is however a mod outthere that makes it possible for you to join ALL three houses, so you'll be able to do a lot more extra quests.

There is a console cheat.
Use:

PCJoinFaction "Telvanni"

This console cheat will work for most valid factions, ie you can join the Assassins Guild using:

PCJoinFaction "Morag Tong"

The telvanni manison stinks. It's in the middle of nowhere and it's cramped
