If you want fun kill treboinus and get his staff. AWESOME POWER

johnny 06-28-2003 11:12 AM

Never used it, don't like blunt weapons.

Skunk 06-28-2003 11:21 AM

Actually the most powerful item is not a weapon at all - but an amulet - the amulet of chameleon (80% chameleon for 60 secs). Set it off and no-one fights back - they just try to run away - while you hack and slash.

It makes you ridiculously powerful...

Use the amulet of Chameleon with the Ring of surroundings and you're 100% invisible and free for 30 seconds.
I definitely agree that that amulet is AWESOME!

Trebonius' Staff is OK, but a must for any mage character.

Kakero 06-28-2003 05:14 PM

The staff is so so. but since I'm more of a warrior I prefer to use long sword.

agree, the amulet is a much nicer thing.

Rageheart 06-29-2003 12:43 PM

actually the staff itself doesn't do much damage.....the enchantment though is enough to kill about everyone in vivec........(ive tried it)

If i'll HAVE to choose a weapon as my favourite it would be the Daedric longbow. It doesn't really matter if you use area effect arrows, even normal silver arrows are most deadly when fired from that bow.

Skunk 06-30-2003 11:09 AM

I love the marksman skill - I had mine up to 100 the first game around - and I could drop most animals a couple of hundred feet away with a single shot - even Golden Saints would fall with just three or four arrows.

Only thing that I *don't* like is the fact that your bow *always* takes damage every time you use it - even when the other fella doesn't even get close to you. That just doesn't make sense...

johnny 06-30-2003 11:26 AM

Yeah, i know. I always take 4 bundles of 50 arrows with me when i'm goin on a quest, and by the time i run out of arrows, my bow is as good as broken. I don't think bows were THAT easily damaged in real life.

HammerHead 06-30-2003 01:12 PM

The daedric longbow is also one of my favorite weapons and the fact that it's available very early in the game makes it a must for my character no matter what class he/she is.
